Two-step Prompting Method for Strict Rule Compliance

1. Describe the project rules and ask the model to write them up as a formal instructions document in its own words, numbered, with a one-line rationale for each rule. Ask for confirmation before finalizing.

Example prompt:
"I am going to describe the rules for this project. Write them up as a formal instructions document in your own words, numbered, with a one-line rationale for each rule. Ask me to confirm before finalizing. This document will be the reference for everything we do next."

2. In the working chat, first message after the plan: Send the agreed instructions document and instruct the model to treat every numbered rule as a decision already made, not a preference. Require the model to cite the rule number before any output that touches a rule.

Example prompt:
"Here is the instructions document we agreed on. Treat every numbered rule as a decision already made, not a preference. Before any output that touches a rule, cite the rule number you are following."

Notes:
- This method fails when the context window overflows, so re-feed the document on every reset.
- This works for constraints, not for taste preferences.
